Description

Hamburger Hash features tender potatoes, flavorful ground beef, and gooey cheddar cheese. It’s a quick, hearty meal that’s perfect for weeknight dinners or comfort food cravings.


Ingredients

  • 3 medium russet potatoes peeled and 1/2-inch diced
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 medium white onion diced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 2½ cups freshly shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Boil the cubed potatoes in salted water for 5–7 minutes until fork-tender, then drain and set aside to steam-dry.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over high heat until browned, then drain the fat and set the beef aside.
  3. In the same skillet over medium heat, fry the vegetable oil, diced onion, par-boiled potatoes, Italian seasoning, minced garlic, salt, and pepper for 5 minutes until golden-brown and translucent.
  4. Add the cooked beef back to the skillet, stirring well. Sprinkle cheese over the mixture and stir until melted and creamy.
  5. Remove from heat and serve hot.

Notes

Ensure potatoes are not overcooked to maintain texture.
Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers for extra flavor.
This meal is best served fresh but can be reheated.
