Description

Air Fryer Sweet and Spicy Salmon is a delightful dish with a perfect blend of sweetness and spice. It’s quick to prepare with ingredients like salmon, brown sugar, and mustard, making it an ideal choice for a healthy dinner that’s packed with flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pound salmon, (4) 4-ounce filets
  • 2 teaspoons spicy brown mustard
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped; for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Dry the salmon filets with a paper towel and apply about 1/2 teaspoon of mustard to each filet using a pastry brush. Sprinkle each filet with 1/4 of the spice mixture, allowing them to rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Place the salmon in the air fryer, ensuring each filet has about an inch of space. Cook in batches if necessary.
  5. Cook for 6-8 minutes, or until the salmon’s internal temperature reaches 135 degrees F.
  6. Remove the salmon from the air fryer and place on a plate, covering with aluminum foil while cooking any remaining filets. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Ensure the salmon filets are dried properly for better texture and flavor absorption.
Resting the salmon after seasoning helps meld the flavors together before cooking.
Adjust cooking time based on the thickness of the salmon filets.
