Description

These Baked Apple Cider Donuts are irresistibly flavorful and easy to make! With a delicious blend of spices and apple cider, they’re perfect for a cozy treat any time of day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1½ cups apple cider
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for topping)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together the apple cider, sugar, buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla until well combined. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently to combine.
  3. Fill greased donut molds about 2/3 full with the prepared batter.
  4. Bake for approximately 7-9 minutes, until the edges are golden and the tops spring back when touched.
  5. Allow the donuts to cool for 2 minutes after baking. Gently remove them from the molds using a fork or knife and place on a tray.
  6. Mix the remaining sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Brush the tops of the warm donuts with melted butter, then dip them into the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  7. Serve the donuts warm or at room temperature and savor each bite!

Notes

These donuts can be enjoyed fresh or stored in an airtight container for a few days.
Feel free to adjust the spice levels according to your preference for a more intense flavor.
For added texture, consider adding chopped nuts to the batter before baking.
