Description

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 angel food cake (or pound cake, 10 to 12 ounces)
  • 2 pounds strawberries
  • 1 pint blueberries
  • 3 tablespoons seedless strawberry jam
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey (or sugar)
  • ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the seedless strawberry jam, lemon juice, honey, and ¼ teaspoon of pure vanilla extract to make the sauce.
  2. Cut the angel food cake into cubes for layering.
  3. In a trifle dish or bowl, start layering by adding a layer of cake cubes, followed by a layer of whipping cream, and then a layer of strawberries and blueberries.
  4. Repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used, finishing with a generous layer of whipped cream on top.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for a few hours to allow the flavors to meld before serving.
