Description

These Blueberry Crumble Bars are a delightful treat with a buttery crumble topping and fresh blueberries, making it an ideal dessert for any occasion. Easy to prepare and utterly delicious, this homemade recipe is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth!


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups salted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 4 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350℉ and line a 9×13 inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the softened butter, 1 cup sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
  3. Scrape down the sides of the bowl, then stir in the all-purpose flour.
  4. Press about 2/3 of the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 15 minutes.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine 1/4 cup sugar and cornstarch, then add the fresh blueberries and stir to combine.
  6. Spoon the blueberry mixture over the baked bottom crust and gently spread it to an even layer.
  7. Crumble the remaining mixture over the blueberry layer.
  8. Bake for an additional 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
  9. For optional icing, whisk together the powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk, adding more milk as necessary for a drizzling consistency.
  10. Drizzle the icing over the cooled bars and enjoy.

Notes

For best results, use fresh blueberries for maximum flavor.
Feel free to add a pinch of cinnamon in the crumble for additional warmth.
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
