- 6 granny smith apples, cut into 1/2" pieces
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 8 tablespoons butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, mix the diced apples with lemon juice to coat them.
- Add flour and cinnamon to the apples, tossing until well coated, and spread the mixture into a 9" pie plate.
- Drizzle about 1/2 cup of caramel sauce over the apples and set aside.
- In a separate large bowl, combine softened butter, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and oats, mixing until you achieve crumbles.
- Evenly sprinkle the oat mixture over the apple layer.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and drizzle with more caramel before serving.
