Description
Crockpot Boiled Peanuts are a unique, flavorful snack that combines simplicity with a satisfying taste. Made with just raw peanuts and salt, this recipe makes it easy to enjoy a warm, comforting treat that’s perfect for gatherings or relaxing at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs raw peanuts in shells
- ¼ cup salt
- water
Instructions
- Rinse and soak the peanuts by sorting through them, removing shell debris, and rinsing them under cold water. Soak in cold water for about 30 minutes, then drain.
- Place the cleaned peanuts in the crockpot and add salt. Cover the peanuts with water, maintaining about an inch of space at the top.
- Set the crockpot to high and cook for approximately 7½ hours, or until the peanuts reach your desired tenderness.
- Halfway through the cooking process, taste a peanut. If it requires more salt, add to taste and stir well.
- Monitor the water level; if it shrinks below the peanuts, replenish with more water to keep them fully submerged.
- Once cooked to preference, drain the peanuts and enjoy them warm, or store for later snacking.
Notes
Experiment with different salt levels for personal preference.
For added flavor, try incorporating spices or seasoning.
These peanuts can be made ahead of time for easy snacking!
