Description

Enjoy this easy Crockpot Onion Dip made with simply sliced onions, creamy cheese, and a touch of hot sauce. Perfect as a comforting snack or appetizer for gatherings, it brings a rich flavor that everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large onions
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice the onions in half, discard the ends and peel, then cut each half into thin strips.
  2. Place the onions in the crockpot, drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Mix well to ensure they are coated.
  3. Cover the crockpot and cook on low heat for 8 hours, or overnight for convenience.
  4. Once the onions are cooked, stir in the sour cream, softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and hot sauce until fully combined. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  5. For serving, keep the dip warm in the crockpot or transfer it to a container and chill for at least 1 hour if serving cold.

Notes

For a thicker dip, you can drain excess juices from the onions before mixing in the other ingredients.
This dip can easily be prepared a day ahead and kept refrigerated until ready to serve.
