Description

These Grilled Tofu Skewers are packed with irresistible flavors and are super easy to make. With a delicious marinade and creamy peanut dipping sauce, they make for a quick, healthy meal that everyone will love!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounce) block extra firm tofu, pat dry and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar or white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, (optional, for garnish)
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce or sweet soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice, freshly squeezed

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine cubed tofu with soy sauce, sesame oil, and vinegar. Mix well to coat the tofu evenly in the marinade.
  2. Skew the marinated tofu onto bamboo skewers, leaving some space between each cube. Aim for 4-5 cubes per skewer.
  3. Lightly oil the grill pan or large skillet. Preheat it over medium-high heat for 1-2 minutes until shimmering. Place the skewers in the pan, ensuring they have space between them. Grill for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden and crispy, occasionally brushing with leftover marinade.
  4. Prepare the peanut dipping sauce by whisking together hoisin sauce, peanut butter, water, sesame oil, and lime juice until smooth. Set it aside.
  5. After grilling, sprinkle sesame seeds on the skewers and serve them immediately with the peanut dipping sauce.

Notes

For a smokier flavor, consider grilling on an outdoor grill instead of a pan.
You can add your favorite vegetables in between the tofu cubes on the skewers for added nutrition and flavor.
To make it gluten-free, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
