Description

These Homemade Artisan Crackers are packed with flavor and incredibly easy to make. With delightful additions like rosemary and garlic, they’re an ideal snack for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour, plus more for kneading and rolling
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh rosemary or other add-in
  • 2/3 cup (160g/ml) water
  • 3 tablespoons (41g/45ml) extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for brushing on top
  • flaky sea salt, for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk the flour, sugar, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and rosemary together.
  2. Add water and olive oil, mixing until the dough forms a clump.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface, knead for 1-2 minutes, then let rest covered for at least 10 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 425°F (218°C) and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
  5. Cut the dough in half, covering one half while working with the other.
  6. Roll out the dough very thinly to about 1/16th of an inch.
  7. Cut the rolled dough into small rectangles and place them on baking sheets.
  8. Repeat with the second half of the dough.
  9. Dock the crackers with a fork, brush with olive oil, and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  10. Bake for 9-12 minutes until golden brown and rotate the sheets halfway through.
  11. Cool completely on a rack before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, try substituting rosemary with other herbs or spices.
Store crackers in an airtight container to maintain crispiness for up to 2 days.
To re-crisp, bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.
