Description

Mississippi Chicken is a flavorful dish featuring tender chicken breasts, zesty peperoncini, and savory seasoning. Ideal for a quick dinner or a comforting meal. Enjoy this easy-to-make delight that everyone will love!


Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 6 to 12 peperoncini peppers
  • 1 (1-oz) packet au jus gravy mix
  • 1 (1-oz) packet ranch dressing mix
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Spray a 5 or 6 quart slow cooker with cooking spray and prepare the ingredients.
  2. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and place it in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Add the peperoncini peppers around the chicken, along with a few tablespoons of liquid from the jar. Sprinkle the gravy mix and ranch dressing mix on top.
  4. Cut the butter into pieces and arrange them evenly over the seasoned chicken.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 2.5 to 4 hours or on LOW for 6 to 8 hours, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  6. Remove the chicken and let it rest for 10 minutes before pulling it into chunks with two forks.
  7. Return the chicken to the sauce in the slow cooker, allowing it to soak up some flavor, then serve with your favorite side dishes.

Notes

For even more flavor, use low-sodium au jus gravy mix.
Feel free to adjust the number of peperoncini according to your spice preference.
Serve with rice or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
