Description

This Peach Crisp shines with its juicy peaches and a comforting crumble topping. With simple ingredients and easy prep, it’s the perfect dessert for any gathering or cozy night in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 pounds ripe peaches, peeled, pitted and cut into 8 pieces
  • 2/3 cup white granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup dark brown sugar, packed
  • ¾ cup white all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ stick salted butter, cut into very small pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Grease a 9-inch baking dish with non-stick spray and set aside.
  3. Place sliced peaches in a large bowl and add sugar. Toss to coat and set aside.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, rolled oats, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  5. Add diced butter to the dry mixture, using a pastry blender or large fork to create coarse crumbs.
  6. Return to the bowl of peaches, adding vanilla, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt. Toss to coat thoroughly.
  7. Pour the peach mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  8. Spread the crumb topping evenly over the peaches.
  9. Bake for 45-50 minutes, until topping is golden brown and juices are bubbling around the edges.
  10. Remove from oven and let rest for 15 minutes before serving.
  11. Optional: Serve with vanilla ice cream and a sprig of mint.

Notes

Ensure peaches are ripe for the best flavor.
You can substitute with other fruits like apples or berries for a variation.
For a crunchier topping, add chopped nuts to the crumble mixture.
