Description

This Peach Pie Filling is a vibrant blend of ripe peaches, sweet brown sugar, and warm cinnamon, making it a perfect addition to any dessert. Easy to prepare, it transforms simple ingredients into a luscious filling that enhances pies and pastries alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ripe peaches, cubed
  • 2/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Cube the peaches. If frozen, thaw them first. If fresh, peel the peaches before cubing.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the peaches, brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Mix well.
  3. Cook until the peach juice separates and the mixture comes to a simmer.
  4. Continue cooking for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the mixture thickens. Use a potato masher to lightly mash about 20% of the peaches. Cook for an additional minute and then remove from heat. Cool completely before using.

Notes

For a thicker filling, adjust the cornstarch based on your preference.
This filling can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Use this filling for pies, tarts, or as a topping for ice cream.
