Description

This Salmon Bowl combines tender salmon, a zesty honey-orange glaze, and fluffy rice. It’s a quick and healthy meal option bursting with flavor, perfect for busy nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound skinless salmon fillets cut into 1-inch pieces
  • ½ teaspoon salt divided
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 large orange juiced and zested, about ½ cup of juice and 1 teaspoon of zest
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil divided
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds optional
  • cooked rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon dry and season it with ¼ teaspoon salt and black pepper.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together soy sauce, honey, orange zest, orange juice, ginger, and sesame oil. Add the salmon pieces and gently toss to coat. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Using a slotted spoon, take the salmon out of the marinade (keeping marinade aside) and add to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2 minutes without stirring until lightly browned, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes or until cooked through. Remove and set aside on a plate.
  5. Pour the reserved marinade into the same skillet, lower the heat to medium, and simmer for 3 to 4 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy. Add the salmon back to the skillet and stir to coat in the sauce.
  6. If desired, sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving over cooked rice.

Notes

Adjust the amount of honey for desired sweetness.
Substitute the salmon with another fish if preferred.
Serve with additional veggies for a more balanced meal.
