Description
This Simple Air Fryer Roast Chicken is packed with flavor and features a tender, juicy texture. With just a few ingredients, this dish is perfect for a quick and satisfying dinner!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 whole chicken (3.5 pounds, giblets removed)
- 1/2 lemon
- 1.5 tablespoons butter (softened)
- Salt & pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Dry your chicken with paper towels. Pierce the lemon half with a knife a few times, then place it in the chicken's cavity.
- Rub the chicken breast side up with half of the butter, and season generously with salt and pepper. Turn the chicken over and butter the underside, then season with salt and pepper.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F.
- Place the chicken in the air fryer basket breast-side down and cook for 30 minutes.
- Turn the chicken breast-side up and cook for another 25 minutes, or until golden and the internal temperature reaches at least 160°F.
- Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving to ensure the juices redistribute, achieving a tender result.
Notes
Using a meat thermometer will help ensure perfect doneness.
Resting the chicken before carving makes it juicier.
You can add herbs like rosemary or thyme for extra flavor.
