Description

This Spicy Chimichurri Sauce with Jalapeño is bursting with flavor thanks to vibrant herbs and a hint of spice. Perfect as a marinade or dipping sauce, it’s easy to make and ideal for any meal!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 jalapeño, roughly chopped (deseed if you don't want it as spicy)
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup parsley
  • 1 cup cilantro
  • 1 shallot, roughly chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a high-powered blender or food processor.
  2. Blend until you reach your desired consistency, either chunky or smooth.
  3. If necessary, stop to push down the ingredients to ensure everything is well incorporated.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  5. Let the chimichurri sit for a few hours for best flavor.

Notes

For less heat, deseed the jalapeño before chopping.
Allowing the sauce to sit enhances the flavors, making it taste even better.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
